The Little Herb That Could Posted on 08 Apr 05:35 , 0 comments

IMG_1248 One of the drawbacks in coming to Grosbeak Gardens infrequently during the colder months is that our winter herb garden might not get enough water. These herbs--rosemary, thyme, and oregano--usually do all right, but this year, the oregano struggled. A few weeks ago, I thought I had killed it, but I kept it around as a source of dried, not fresh, herbs. And I watered it anyway. Much to our surprise, we just saw a few small leaves coming up through the soil. All three herbs made it through the winter and will go back out into the garden soon. And I'm sure the little oregano plant is as ready for spring as we are! GbG Bill
