The pole beans have vines all the way up the trellis and over the eight foot fence. Any day know they will flower. And speaking of flowers, the zucchini flowered, pollenated, and now we have at least 4 that will be ready to pick next week. And the yellow squash are right behind. Nothing really new to report about the beets except I really love the way the light shines through the green leaves and turns the red leaves aflame. And the cucumbers, continuing their growing ways, have flowered, and I count 7 cukes on 1 plant. This could be our best cucumber year yet. But the biggest news is that we harvested our first 3 tomatoes this weekend. I’ve never kept a record of when we’ve harvested tomatoes in our past gardens, but the middle of July seems early. Not that I’m complaining. GbG Stephen
